Chelsea captain John Terry warned his future IS uncertain by manager Jose Mourinho ONE WEEK ago

Category: Uncategorized

John Terry‘s withdrawal at half-time of Chelsea‘s disappointing 3-0 defeat against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon has been a hot topic in the media since the game and reports in Telegraph Sport suggest the Blues skipper faces a fight to regain his place in the starting XI.

Many eyebrows were raised as the 34-year-old was substituted first time under manager Jose Mourinho and the former England international looked frustrated at having to watch on from the substitutes bench as his teammates concede two more goals in the second half.

The change was explained by Mourinho as purely tactical as he felt his side needed to take risks in order to chase a equaliser and brought on young defender Kurt Zouma for his pace.

However, it’s understood that the Portuguese boss has been concerned with Terry’s form over pre-season and warned his skipper that his place was under threat following the 2-2 draw with Swansea City on the opening day of the new campaign.

All eyes will be on Mourinho’s starting XI at the weekend for the Blues’ clash against West Brom at the Hawthorns and if the club is successful in their attempts at landing John Stones from league rivals Everton, then this could be Terry’s final year with the Stamford Bridge outfit.
