Tottenham Hotspur youngster Kyle Walker-Peters has reportedly gone on trial with Dutch side Roda JC.

Sky Sports reports that Roda can loan the defender, who signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal at Tottenham in December, for the rest of the season if he impresses at a training camp in Portugal.

“We’ll see if it suits either side. The intention is certainly to capture him on loan,” Roda JC technical director Ton Caanon told Dutch sports channel Fox Sports, according to Sky Sports.

The 18-year-old right-back is highly rated around White Hart Lane, and made his senior debut for Tottenham on their post-season tour of Malaysia and Australia in May 2015.

Mauricio Pochettino has been happy to give youngsters a chance at Spurs, but Walker-Peters has the ironically named Kyle Walker, and Kieran Trippier, blocking his path to the first team.

Some competitive football in the Eredivisie, where Roda are 15th in the table, and the experience of playing abroad at such a tender age would stand Walker-Peters in good stead upon his return.
