REVEALED: How much Newcastle offered for Andros Townsend – Tottenham are driving hard bargain!

Category: Uncategorized

Everybody knows that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy drives a hard bargain.

And the Spurs chief particularly excels when it comes to getting good money for average talent.

£5m for Kyle Naughton. £8m for Jake Livermore. £9m for Steven Caulker – the famous Liverpool striker.

Getting the best possible price for Andros Townsend is his latest project, and reports from Sky Sports are claiming that he has rejected Newcastle United’s opening offer of £10.5m for the 24-year-old.

This is for a player who has scored three times in 50 Premier League appearances for Spurs, and has not featured for Tottenham since a public spat with fitness coach Nathan Gardiner in October.

Levy has apparently slapped a £14m asking price on Townsend and is not budging. Sky Sports adds that Newcastle are also exploring a loan move, but will come back in with another permanent offer.

Townsend has had a rough season but has plenty of factors pushing his price up. He is young and homegrown, has performed well for England and still has 18 months left on his Spurs contract.
