DELUDED van Gaal makes FARCICAL Manchester United claim

Category: Uncategorized

What is Louis van Gaal on?!

The Manchester United coach is getting on in years, and we’re starting to wonder if there’s a little senility creeping in on the once great Barcelona coach.

He’s always been a fairly controversial figure, and good for a soundbite or two, but this is getting ridiculous.

If you thought LVG’s decision to offload Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez to Bayer Leverkusen was bad, you’re not going to believe what he’s saying now.

According to van Gaal, United are still in the title race.

That’s right! The ex-Ajax chief still believes that his United side—perhaps the worst in a generation—can lift the EPL crown.

“The difficulty is that four clubs are above us,” the deluded Dutchman told reporters, as per Goal.com. “So you have to beat these four clubs in terms of the results. So it shall be very difficult but it’s not impossible, and that’s what I’ve said.

“It’s still very difficult but we have seen not only in the Premier League, but other leagues. So it’s possible and we have to believe in that.

“But I and my players know it’s going to be very difficult. You have to apply pressure on the leaders.

“Last season we were at that moment when we played Chelsea away and gave a lot of pressure, but we didn’t win that game.

“I still believe if we’d won that game we would have continued our run of winning games. But you also need luck and now we have seven injuries.”

Heading into this weekend’s home bout against Southampton, the Red Devils sit fifth in the table, having slipped out of the top four places—and out of the Champions League—during a miserable end to 2015.

At the time of writing, the 20-time English champions are seven points behind second-placed Leicester City and leaders Arsenal, who host Chelsea this weekend.

They trail Manchester City by six points, and are two behind Tottenham Hotspur, who occupy the last Champions League spot.
